What's happening in Cox's Bazar?
Cox's Bazar is the world's largest and most densely populated refugee camp. Our team in Bangladesh are already spreading handwashing and hygiene messages.
Children and families who live in Cox's Bazar are struggling to live anything like normal lives. Many families have to build their own shelters in order to get roofs over their heads. Bamboo and tarpualins are the only things protecting children from stormy night skies as they sleep on cold mud floors. During frequent heavy rains, it is not uncommon for the shelters to get flooded, leaving young children wet and cold throughout the night.
Now, on top of all that, there is the real threat of an outbreak that has killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world. In the crowded camps, it will spread quickly.
